2012 Best Italian restaurant in Jacksonville
Spaghetti, lasagna, ziti, we like it all. Here are our choices for the best five Italian restaurants in Jacksonville.5. Maggiano's-This one would have been higher on the list but we had a recent visit that wasn't on par with our past, positive experiences. Maggiano's is all about ambiance. To get to the restaurant patrons have to walk through a winding garden of fountains filled with fish. We recommend the spinach salad and the fried zucchini for starters. Next, try their beef braciole, chicken parmigiana, or

Location: Midtown Parkway, Jacksonville, FL; (904)380-4360.4. Renna's-Typically known as a New York-style pizza restaurant. However, Renna's also serves a wide assortment of pastas, salads, and Italian sandwiches. For instance, diners can try Renna's Cosmo hot sub with ham, melted mozzarella, lettuce, tomato, onion and Italian dressing. Manicotti is also available and consists of two large tube pasta shells that are filled with multiple different cheeses and topped with mozzarella and backed in their own marinara sauce. Check out this article by local Ethnic Pandora Bracelet Restaurants Examiner Samantha Lento for a more detailed review of Renna's.3. Enza's-This Italian restaurant is located in a classy area of Southside near Whole Foods and other similar businesses. The restaurant has been around since 2004 and was opened by Enza and Mike Huff. at a young age. Location: 10601 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL; (904)268-44582. Mezza Luna-Here marks the transition from the casual Italian restaurants to the fancier and more expensive ones. This Italian eatery in Neptune Beach is quite popular in the area. The front portion of the restaurant has a large bar area that is pretty narrow. Diners can eat in this portion of the restaurant if they want something casual. Mezza Luna has their main dining room in the back and it's slightly more dressy than what's required for the bar area. For food, we recommend the jumbo lumb crab cake ($13) with mustard shallot sauce and truffle arugula for starters. Mezza Pandora Jewelry Sale Luna's wood fired pizzas ($15.50) like the spicy shrimp with tomatoes, mozzarella, sweet peppers and onions are popular for entrees. Location: 110 North First St., Neptune Beach, FL; (904)249-5573.1. Giovanni's-A restaurant to try if you're looking for an upscale Italian experience, Giovanni's offers true Italian find dining. The building is hard to miss on Beach Blvd. It has a very large window near the top of the restaurant and unique brickwork throughout. For instance, try their petto d'anatra if you're looking for something different. This dish starts with a cajun grilled breast

of duck, sweet corn, fried asparagus, and barbecue onions along with their housemade sausage stuffing. As you can see from this dish, Giovanni's doesn't serve typical Asian cuisine. This may be why they are consistently ranked in the Florida Trend Top 200 restaurants and Jacksonville Magazine's Top 25. Go here for an upscale, fine dining Italian experience. Location: 1161 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL; (904)249-7787.
